Dr. Berrettini’s Mendocino Minerals is a natural cosmetics company that is woman owned, and entirely created, formulated, and manufactured in Mendocino County.

In 2009, we launched our company that was envisioned over twenty years ago. My grandmother was the first person to introduce me to the craft of cosmetics. Some of my favorite moments as a child were being with my grandmother when her beauty consultant would visit. Afterwards, my grandmother would give me the samples to play with. I loved putting the makeup on but also wanted to know what it was made of and how to do that. By the age of ten, I was reading and researching the ingredients of all types of personal care products and planned to create my own makeup line.

Being raised in an environmentally conscious community in Mendocino County, I was educated from a young age about recycling, sustainable logging practices, having personal organic gardens, and natural products from toothpaste to personal care. Keeping these values was important to me and my future plans.

My family always stressed the importance of education. I became an accredited doctor of chemistry, specializing in surface science in a world-wide corporation. However, I held on to the dream of someday making cosmetics. My love of Mendocino County and the beauty of the Redwoods and ocean brought me back to my roots. At last, I was able to realize my dream, and our company was launched.

My Grandmother and Grandfather (1949) are two of the most inspirational people behind Mendocino Minerals. My grandfather, Don Celeri, was a strong advocate for education and hard work which helped drive me to becoming a Doctor. My grandmother, Julia Celeri, has always had amazing style and grace and was the first person to introduce me to the craft of cosmetics. The beginning of Mendocino Minerals truly began 20+ years ago.

I will never forget my grandfather saying, "Education is the one thing that cannot be taken away." His encouragement and support helped drive me to where I am today. I will always try to live by his example.
